The Ferrari FF is an impressive four-wheel drive sports car that offers practicality, reliability, and excitement. As the replacement for the 612 Scaglietti, it was introduced at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2011, boasting the largest road-going Ferrari engine ever produced at the time. With a 6.3 litre V12 engine, the Ferrari FF produces 651 hp and reaches a top speed of 200 mph. It was marketed as the world’s fastest four-seater sports car and can accelerate from 0-60 mph in just 3.5 seconds.
The FF stands for “Ferrari Four,” representing its four seats and four-wheel drive system. Its unique design combines the sportiness of a hatchback with the practicality of a two-door estate. The exterior boasts pulled-back headlights similar to the 458 Italia, twin circular brake lights, an egg-crate grille, four exhaust tips, and defined side skirts, creating the wedge-shaped “shooting brake” configuration.
The Ferrari FF features a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission and paddle shift system, similar to other Ferrari models such as the California, 458 Italia, and F12 Berlinetta. It also features a new four-wheel drive system called 4RM, which uses a Power Transfer Unit (PTU) to provide power to each of the four wheels as needed, making it 50% lighter than a conventional system.
